Investors In People
What is Investors in People?
Investors in People (IIP) is a national standard that sets best practice for effective investment in the training and development of all people within an organisation to help it achieve its business goals. It is about results, not procedures, and is a practical guide for the continuous improvement of both the organisation and its employees.
What does IIP do for employees?
It provides significant benefits through improved skills, an understanding of the company's business goals and clearly-defined personal objectives. As a result of IIP, employees will be part of a successful team, encouraged to have good ideas and see them implemented, and given help to develop skills and abilities for the future. This in turn will provide job satisfaction, improved communications and a better working environment for everyone.
Achievements so far
In 1996 the Lubricants division of TOTAL gained IIP recognition and continues to retain this status. Here at TOTAL we will continue to extend these standards to encompass the whole organisation.
