Safety is a priority. It’s a consideration that is rewarded at Total. Clearly defined and monitored health and safety policies and a culture of self-audit and improvement ensures we adhere to all current legislation standards.

We encourage technologies, systems and facilities that secure the health and safety of our work force and our workplace. We also aim to minimise risk and proactively protect the general public and the social and physical landscape in which we work. 

Providing a secure working environment with well-informed, well-trained people who are engaged in and committed to Health and Safety maintains public confidence in the integrity of our operations.

The Safety Improvement Plan for 2007 has a four-point approach, incorporating: communication of vision and values; behaviours and risk awareness; improvement of working methods, skills and management of risk; and, stability of the workforce.
