Research Partnerships - Geoscience

Geoscience research partnerships are dominated by contributions from universities. These range from higher degree student sponsorships to supporting university staff such as Professor Patrick Corbett the Total Professor in Petroleum Geoengineering at Heriot-Watt University and Dr. Dougal Jerram the Total Lecturer in Petroleum Geosciences at the University of Durham.

We also support research consortia in different geoscience domains, such as geophysics, geology and reservoir engineering. Examples include:

EAP: Edinburgh Anisotropy Project

EAP: Edinburgh Anisotropy Project

NERC/BGS, Edinburgh
Applied seismic anisotropy, fracture characterisation and imaging in anisotropic media, time-lapse anisotropy

Edinburgh Time Lapse Project

The Edinburgh Time Lapse Project

Heriot-Watt University, Edinburgh

Quantifying the interpretation of 4D seismic by effective integration between reservoir geophysics and engineering

Stategic Development to Slope SystemsStratigraphic Development to Slope Systems

University of Aberdeen

A combined seismic, modeling and outcrop approach to the understanding of slope systems, and the development of rules for reservoir prediction in slope settings.

Porescale ModellingThe Pore Scale Modelling Consortium

Imperial College London

Development of network models to study two- and three-phase displacement processes
