Research Partnerships

The GRC funds research across the whole spectrum of upstream technical disciplines, from the geosciences to economics, including safety and the environment. Experts based in the UK lead most of the research, which is often sponsored through Joint Industry Projects (JIPs). At any given time the GRC has a portfolio of about 60 active projects. The findings from these projects either feed directly into our operated geoscience research or contribute to the development of new techniques and technologies for TOTAL in the UK and for the Group worldwide.

Research providers range from UK and foreign Universities, research institutes, Small to Medium Enterprises (SMEs) through to significantly larger companies.
