Links with UK Research Organisations
The GRC is actively involved with both professional societies worldwide and UK industry organisations.
Industry Technology Facilitator (ITF)
ITF is a not for profit organisation funded by major oil and gas operating and service companies.
ITF's objectives are directly linked to the business drivers of the oil and gas industry –facilitating research into topics such as maximising recoverable reserves and maximising day-to-day production. Ultimately value comes from knowing how much oil and gas is available and getting it out of the ground.
ITF's subsurface and production technology managers facilitate the creation of joint industry research projects (JIPs) that research and develop technology requirements.
Olivier Dubrule, Manager of the GRC is an ITF Board Member.
ITI Energy
ITI Energy selects and invests in projects based on assessing future market needs, identifying technology opportunities, and responding to ideas, initiatives and proposals from the research and business communities. Our £150 million funding is being invested in applied research projects in collaboration with partners from industry, academia and finance, regardless of where they are located. We are based in Scotland, but our scope and vision is global. When identifying suitable projects for investment, we look for partners who will bring a mix of research expertise, facilities, technical resources, finance and commercial focus.
