Jura

In late 2006, TOTAL E&P UK Limited made a significant discovery in the Alwyn area: Jura. The well, 3/15-10, was drilled 10 kilometres east of Dunbar and found a gas and condensate field. In March 2007, Total announced its intention to fast-track the development of this field.

The field is estimated to contain 170 million barrels of oil equivalent and when it comes onstream in 2008, daily production is expected to plateau at 45,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day.

A further exploration well within the Jura field is planned towards the end of 2007.
