The objective of history-matching is to reproduce all observed field data with a numerical model. This model can then be used to generate production forecasts and perform reservoir studies to optimise infill drilling or enhanced oil recovery.
Over the past few years, the GRC has developed methods and tools to condition reservoir models with production data at the wells. We are working with a wide range of different history matching techniques including gradient based methods, genetic and evolutionary algorithms and ensemble Kalman filter.
The aim of this research is to improve the history-matching process both by development and introduction of new techniques and the improvement of existing techniques and methodologies.
Gas/oil ratio changes in a reservoir with time.
